National Champions!
Fourteen fourth and fifth grade Hitchcock students, coached by Mrs. Ehly, recently won their division in the Knowledge Master Winter Open. Students from practically every state and several countries competed in this academic competition. Congratulations to:

Book Fair
Please join us for our  “All You Can Read”  Book Fair February 8 – February 17. Open during Parent-Teacher Conferences and after school!
Candy Grams
Student Council will be selling Candy Grams during conferences. Stop by the booth to write words of praise and encouragement to your child after you meet with their teacher! They will be sold for 50 cents a piece and will be delivered to your child's classroom with a piece of candy attached.
Collect Pop Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House
Student Council will continue to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House through the month of February. The pop tabs will be given to the Ronald McDonald house to be turned into money to help kids with serious injuries and illnesses. The grade level that collects the most pop tabs will win a popcorn party!

NEW LEARNING COMMUNITY POLICY:
If you DO NOT live within the Hitchcock attendance area, but DO live in Millard, and plan on having your children attend our school, please fill out the TRANSFER paperwork by FEBRUARY 15th, 2010.

If you DO NOT LIVE IN MILLARD, but plan on having your children attend our school, please fill out the OPEN ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK by MARCH 15th, 2010.

Winter Weather
Nebraska is known for long, cold winters! Please dress your child accordingly. If there is snow fall and a chance that school may be canceled, you can check our website at www.mpsomaha.org. You will also get an automated phone call after 6am announcing that school has been canceled.
