GYM ROCKS   HAVE FUN.   These are the words you will find on the rock wall at the south end of the gym at Hitchcock.   More than fitting.    My name is Jon Thompson and this will be my 8th year teaching Physical Education at Hitchcock. I previously taught 3 years at Lewis Accelerated Elementary in Excelsior Springs, MO.

I was born in Maryville, Missouri, but grew up in the small town of Earlham, Iowa, where I attended 1st - 12th grades.   I earned my undergraduate degree from Northwest Missouri State University (Once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat!), and I recently completed my masters degree through Wayne State.

I have been married for 6 years.   My wife's name is Monica and she teaches at Papillion Jr. High.   We have two boys at home; Matthew turned 3 in April and Joshua was born in June.   Rounding out our household are our two Weimaraners, Zeus and Zoe.

I am looking forward to another fun-filled year of teaching.
